Newsletter Introduction: August 2025

WELCOME to the August issue of my free, local and fun monthly email newsletter! What’s in it this month?

*WAIT! HUGE thanks to readers who shared the July issue with your family, friends and co-workers. I hit 3,000 subscribers this week! I LOVE this.

August is one of my favorite months—2 of my favorite things: Westminster’s Neighbors Helping Neighbors Town Benefit Day and Princeton’s weeklong Labor Day Tennis Tournament. Why? Because of the sense of community that both bring out.

When the kids were young—August was bittersweet. I was exhausted from all the summer chaos, yet didn’t want it to end. Also, at this point in the summer I’d be counting the days to the structure and organization of school being in session. When would the damn school bus come?

In this issue I’ve got stories about how we managed household organization and laundry with 6 kids, Jay’s hate/hate relationship with invasive bittersweet, and an important topic — we did a deep dive in to our homeowners insurance and it was EYE OPENING.

I’m on the board of the Ashburnham Westminster Foundation for Academic Excellence and we just awarded $20K in grants to classrooms in AWRSD.

A lot of people have been asking about land surveyors on Facebook and Nextdoor lately, so I asked around and put together a list based on reader recommendations. I’ve also got info on Princeton’s FREE outdoor summer movie nights, Labor Day square dancing, summer and fall fairs in the area, school calendars and bus routes for many local districts and of course, a little bit about the Central Mass local real estate market.

There’s a signup link at the bottom of every story, so if you like what you read, get in on a free subscription! Like a story? Share it to your family, friends, neighbors and co-workers—there’s a link for that, too!

If you’ve found value in this newsletter, or if one of my resource stories, town guides, or even the magnet on your fridge has ever helped you, I’d be so grateful if you’d pass my contact details along with your personal recommendation. When someone you care about is thinking of making a move, or simply wondering what their home might be worth, I’m always here to offer grounded perspective and local insight. No pressure. No scripts. Just help when it’s needed. My business grows through kindness, trust, and people like you who believe in community. THANK YOU for being part of that.
