I met Annie Faiola because she was the buyer for my third listing ever. I remember my first few listings very well, because when you’re that new, you are afraid of everything. Sellers are scary and buyers are scary. Annie was a first time buyer for my listing, and she probably had fears of her own. We’ve stayed in touch over the years, trading resources, exchanging ideas and even going to trivia together a few times. I knew she had a background in accounting, and math is scary, so I didn’t ask too many questions. I was pretty excited for her to learn that she has branched out on her own with a new business that highlights some of her strengths as an accountant. This new business is called Faiola Management Services. I asked Annie to chat with me about what she offers and how it might benefit my readers. I hope you enjoy my Local Business Profiles and if you use her services, let’s get Faiola Management Services going with some Google reviews!
How did Faiola Management Services come to be?
It was honestly something in between a plan and a leap of faith. I spent about five years working at a CPA firm where I was deeply involved in bookkeeping, reporting, onboarding clients, and helping fix messy financials. I loved the work, but I also saw a gap.
So many small business owners felt overwhelmed or embarrassed about their books, and I realized I could help them in a more personal, approachable way.
At the same time, movement and wellness have always been a big part of my life. I taught martial arts for awhile, which is where I first fell in love with helping people build strength, confidence, and discipline. That eventually led me to become a yoga instructor, where I found another layer…slowing down and finding stillness, breathing, and creating balance.
More recently, I joined my local Emergency Management Team, which added another meaningful layer to everything I do. It’s given me a deeper sense of connection to my community and the ability to step in and help when it truly matters.
At some point, it all clicked…why not build something that reflects all of that?
Now, I help people feel more in control whether it’s their finances, their mindset, or supporting my community when it’s needed.
What did you do before this, and how does that shape your business today?
Before starting my own business, I worked for a CPA firm where I was essentially the right hand in operations handling bookkeeping, client communication, training staff, and cleaning up complicated financials.
When I was teaching martial arts and later yoga, which taught me how to connect with people in a completely different way.
Now, with my involvement in Emergency Management, I’ve also gained a deeper appreciation for preparation, responsibility, and community support.
All of these experiences shape how I run my business today. I don’t just focus on the numbers… I focus on the person behind them. Patience, communication, and meeting people where they are, are just as important as technical skills.
Was there a moment that made you say, “okay, I’m actually doing this”?
Yes, and it wasn’t one big dramatic moment. It was a series of little nudges.
People started coming to me asking for help, referrals started happening naturally, and I realized… I’m already doing this. The final push was deciding to trust myself and make it official. So that’s how Faiola Management Services began. Sometimes the sign isn’t loud, its just consistent.
The Work Itself: Describe what you do (cookout version)
I always say…I bring balance to people’s books and minds. Between accounting, yoga, martial arts, and even my role in Emergency Management, everything I do comes back to balance, discipline, and helping people feel supported and in control. Different tools, same goal.
What does a typical day or week look like?
There’s really no “typical” day, which keeps it interesting.🤣 My days are a mix of working with clients on their books, answering questions, cleaning up financials, and making sure everything is accurate and tax ready for their CPA. In between all that, I’m managing schedules, getting kids to activities (a lot of sports!), helping with homework, and fitting in yoga classes.
On top of that, I stay involved with my local Emergency Management Team, which is something I take seriously and am very proud to be part of. It’s busy, but it’s a good kind of busy.
What’s the part of your work you could talk about for hours?
Honestly, the “aha” moments. When a client goes from overwhelmed and stressed to finally understanding their numbers, it’s huge. That shift in confidence is everything. Change doesn’t happen without change! It’s the same feeling I used to see teaching martial arts when something clicks, and they realize they’re capable of more than they thought.
Is there seasonality to your business?
Definitely. The beginning of the year is busy with tax prep support and getting everything cleaned up and ready. Throughout the year, it becomes more about maintaining, organizing, and helping clients stay on track and wrapping up clients on extensions.
Yoga and fitness tend to ebb and flow with life seasons too, people come back to it when they need grounding, strength, or a reset.
Emergency Management is a year-round commitment, but it also reminds me how important it is to stay prepared and adaptable.
Your Customers & Community: Who do you love serving most, and why?
I love working with small business owners, especially ones who are passionate about what they do but feel overwhelmed by the financial side. They’re hardworking, driven, and juggling a lot… they just need someone to help bring structure and clarity to it all.
A customer story that stuck with you
I’ve worked with clients who were completely overwhelmed, months or even years behind, stressed, and unsure where to start. One in particular stands out because once we got everything cleaned up, they said, “where have you been” and the referrals began…
That’s why I do this. It’s not just about numbers it’s about peace of mind.
What do you wish more people knew about what you offer?
That you don’t need to have it all together before reaching out. A lot of people wait until the last minute. There’s no judgment, just solutions.

How can people interact with your business?
For bookkeeping, I work with clients both locally and remotely, and services are typically ongoing or project-based depending on their needs.
For yoga, I offer morning classes in Princeton, and I’m open to small groups or community-based events.
And through my involvement in Emergency Management, I’m also connected to the community in a different way, supporting, helping, and being part of something bigger than just business.
The best way to connect is by reaching out directly. I keep things flexible so I can meet people where they are.
The Honest Stuff: What surprised you about running a business?
How much of it is mindset! The actual work, I knew how to do. But trusting yourself, setting boundaries, valuing your time…that’s where the real growth happens.
Advice for someone starting a similar business
Start before you feel ready. You’ll figure things out as you go.
Looking Ahead: What are you most excited about right now?
I’m excited about continuing to grow both sides of my business in a way that feels aligned. I’d love to expand more into community-based yoga, while continuing to support business owners on the financial side.
Upcoming events or things to know
Right now, I’m continuing to take on new bookkeeping clients and exploring more opportunities for yoga classes and community involvement.
What does success look like in five years?
Success to me isn’t just about growth, it’s about balance. In five years, I want a thriving, sustainable business that supports my family, gives me flexibility, and continues to make a real impact on people’s lives.
A big personal goal of mine is to earn my CPA license within the next couple of years. I’m currently studying for it now. That’s something I’m really working toward, not just for my own growth, but to continue expanding how I can support my clients.
I also hope to continue growing my involvement in Emergency Management and staying connected to my community in a meaningful way.
If I can build something that allows me to be present for my kids, grow professionally, give back, and help people feel more confident (financially, physically, and mentally) that’s what success looks like to me.
