Westminster’s Neighbors Helping Neighbors Town Benefit Day is coming up on Sunday, August 9, and it’s always one of my favorite days of the year! You do not need to live in Westminster to participate. All proceeds from this annual event go to the Westminster Benefit Fund, which is a non-profit with the sole purpose to help Westminster residents in crisis situations beyond their control. I can’t write the story of the day better than the hardworking group that works year round on it~~so here’s what they posted on the Neighbors Helping Neighbors Facebook page. Academy Hill is about to be absolutely PACKED with food, music, games, auctions, shopping, family fun and more community spirit than one hill should legally be allowed to hold.
10:00 AM: NHN 5K begins on South Street
11:00 AM: All Benefit Day activities open
12:00 PM: The first Nancy Green Award for Outstanding Citizenship will be presented to the one and only Mr. Dan McCarthy!
PLUS: Live music all day by Big Dave and The Captain !
Mechanical bull! Petting zoo! Food trucks! Auctions! Fried dough! Strawberry shortcake! Carnival games! Tie-dye! Henna! Shopping! Raffles! And approximately one million other things happening all over the hill!

Neighbors Helping Neighbors exists because of YOU. Donations, volunteers, showing up, spreading the word… that’s the whole engine. Over the years, (ALMOST 40 of them omg) this event has helped hundreds of local families when they needed it most, and that doesn’t happen by accident.
So if you’re local and even thinking about getting involved – you won’t regret it
