Relatable Comedy is My Favorite

Relatable comedy is my favorite. In the late 1990s we used to go to local comedy night fundraisers that weren’t very funny. We would pay to support the cause – – police association, soccer league, etc. The jokes were very predictable, and the jokes were just not very funny.

I recently discovered Leanne Morgan. My youngest son had said in conversation that his love language is receiving gifts (actually giving and receiving), and I was like “love language, what’s that?”, which is when I googled it and discovered Leanne Morgan, because she explains it in one of her funnier skits.

I happened upon Jim Gaffigan on Netflix years ago. I like his style of comedy–he was picking on himself, very self deprecating humor. A lot of his skits are about his relationship and parenting. Last I knew, he had five kids. I remember one of his skits said what’s it like to have a fifth child and his answer was imagine you’re drowning, and someone hands you a baby.

I’m curious who else I should add to my comedy watch list. Jay and I don’t have the same vibe when it comes to comedy, except we both strangely really like Trailer Park Boys. Which is not for everyone. But it’s what we watch when we can’t agree on something~~because we both agree that’s funny.

Here’s a compilation of Leanne Morgan and Jim Gaffigan standup.
