Love My Ryobi Lopper

Ryobi Lopper

I just love my Ryobi Lopper. I didn’t even know such a thing existed, until one of Jay‘s friends from tennis came over to prune our apple tree, and I was fascinated. In the past, anything that I pruned or lopped required a pretty good amount of force from me, leaning into the manual lopper to get the job done.

When I saw Lois in action, taking to our apple tree like Edward Scissorhands, I immediately put that thing on my birthday list. The Ryobi  of suite of 18V tools are just the level of power that I need. The lopper is about 2 feet long, and I can lop all day without having to grab a second battery. It can cut saplings and branches up to about 1 inch around.

Sometimes I get a little overly ambitious, and then the lopper gets stuck on what I was attempting to cut, and I have to pull the trigger a few times to get it to loosen up. Safety first–anytime I do get it stuck in the closed position, I just use a stick to coax it back open. This level of care and caution is due to an accident I had with a Pampered Chef mandoline kitchen slicer a few weeks after Adam was born. I have quite a few favorite Ryobi battery operated tools, but the lopper is truly #1 in my book. *Rare photo of me below, in my natural habitat.
