Ice Cream for Dinner? Yes, Please!

Ice cream for Dinner Nixie

Who says you can’t have ice cream for dinner? When the weather calls for it, I think it’s a great idea! When I was a kid growing up in Baldwinville and Templeton in the 1970s – 1980s, we had some favorite local ice cream spots. Lee’s Hot Dog Stand, Templeton Country Store, Calico & Creme, Hunter Farm, and Murdock Farm immediately come to mind.

I’ve assembled a list of locally owned ice cream spots throughout Central Mass. We live dangerously close to Rota Spring in Sterling and I just love their Maine Blueberry ice cream.

Pictured above is our granddaughter Nixie, who lives in New Zealand and below is one of my favorite photos of our youngest three kids, taken in approximately 2004. All of them approve of ice cream for dinner!
