My Vehicle was Recalled. Want to check yours?

My vehicle was recalled, and I was pretty excited because the symptoms detailed on this recall matched an issue I thought I was having with my car. When I clicked in to the link on the text message, I was disappointed to see that the recall was for a sedan, which my husband drives.

Things got even worse when I realized that it wasn’t for his current sedan, it was for the one he had before this one, a BMW sedan that was problematic and ended up being sold for parts when it was just about at the 300K miles mark.

I decided that it couldn’t hurt to check our vehicles’ recall status occasionally, so I bookmarked the manufacturer’s recall page. I don’t know when our 2006 sedan was recalled, but I sure wish I had known about it when we still owned (and were having trouble with) that car.

*Note: the photo for this story isn’t related to the recall, but was used previously in a story I wrote called Should Have Trusted My Gut on that Car Salesman and his Contract.

I put together this list of links to vehicle manufacturers’ recall databases. I’d love to hear if someone gets actual value out of this list. I look forward to hearing from you if you do!
