We all have one: the space we close the door on and promise to deal with “someday.” You know from my past stories I’ve been working on some of those spots in my house. A big project I was avoiding was our detached barn.
During Covid, the second floor of the barn became the hangout for my teenagers and early-20s kids, and it did its job. The kids had privacy and something to do, and we had a little peace and quiet in the house when we were all ‘at home’ for all that time.
Years have passed, and those kids are now largely out on their own. What they left behind upstairs: abandoned couches, cans of spray paint, sleeping bags, pillows, and more things from inside the house than I care to think about. I know that barn holds a lot of memories for them, but I don’t see anyone heading up those stairs anymore.
Kind of gross and embarrassing, the barn had also become a hangout for someone else: bats and mice. That changed the project from a weekend chore into something I definitely didn’t want to tackle on my own.
Sweeping up bat guano isn’t something to take lightly if you don’t know what you’re doing. So, partly as a treat to myself and partly in the name of safety, I called C&P Clean All.
I first met Caitlyn (the C of C&P) at a small business meetup a few years ago. She and her husband, Paul, have been my go-to team for removal projects at my own house, and at this point dozens of my clients have hired them, too.

C&P Clean All is a local small business, and that matters to me. When I can keep my dollars close to home and support neighbors who do great work, I’m happy to do it.
One of the things I like most about working with C&P is their network of donation resources. I’m not paying to send things to a landfill that someone else could put to good use. In my line of work, I come across a lot of over-shopping. It’s more common than you might think. One client had at least 200 rolls of wrapping paper. Another had quite the collection of perfectly good backpacks. Instead of tossing it all, Paul and Caitlyn brainstormed with me to find places where those items could do some good.

And when it comes down to it, they’re not afraid of dirty jobs, which, as my barn shouted loud and clear, is a real asset. The upstairs of the barn is now pretty empty, and I can finally think about what’s next for that space, rather than have it as one more thing I have to keep on my to-do list. As the days passed, I hated to even go up there–if you have hair like mine, you know the fear of a flying insect or bat getting caught in there.
Whether you’re preparing a home for sale, need just a few items removed, settling an estate, yard clean up, or just finally facing that one room (or barn) you’ve been avoiding, C&P Clean All may be just the team you need. Their pricing is very reasonable, and in my opinion, worth every penny. Tell them I sent you.
