I recorded a video introduction for my October newsletter. It was totally outside of my comfort zone, but it was faster than writing, which was important given the fact that I only had a few minutes. I got a lot of positive feedback, including one that really made me smile-–from a reader who said the video reminded her of the Swap Shop, a 1970s radio show. The Swap Shop aired on Saturday mornings on 1340 AM WGAW radio, and where people called in to sell items or put out requests for things they were in the market for. It was like the great-grandpa to Facebook Marketplace. I, of course, remember the Swap Shop–it was a non-negotiable at my grandmother’s apartment, it didn’t matter if she had company–there was always the Swap Shop (and her loud police scanner) in the background. I’ve got a wide variety of stories in this issue–-events, resource stories, tax advice (!) and my first free client event, coming up soon (hint: that’s me and my brother in the 1970s Christmas card photo above). Looking forward to your feedback and suggestions for future stories. Here’s my November video introduction, then a clickable list of this month’s stories below.
