Welcome, 2025! As I write this, we are in the middle of a very cold and windy snap. I’m especially aware of this because Jay is visiting our oldest daughter Jane and her family in New Zealand for a few weeks (where it is summer), so I am in charge of firewood, trash day and every other uncomfortable thing about going outside. I also decided to use my time wisely and raise the bar for myself and take the required 40 hour class to get my real estate broker’s license. Thank goodness these kids (22, 24) can fend for themselves, because I’m on Zoom every night from 6 to 10 PM.

Christmas was a bit hectic, but I did have time to make the ridiculous ugly sweater charcuterie board (above) with my mother, and just like every other 55-year-old woman has on her Christmas list, I got the dollhouse of my dreams from Santa. More about Catzilla later in the newsletter, and it’s likely I’ll write a story about the dollhouse after I’ve gone to Earth and Tree Dollhouses & Miniatures with the gift certificate that I also got for Christmas. As always, I have a creative variety of stories in this issue of my newsletter. It seemed that every holiday gathering we went to, somebody approached me to talk about their favorite story. I love that, because as I’ve said too many times, this thing does not write itself.
