Local Business Review: All Pro Billiards

We had a rodent problem in our house a few years ago. Get a cat, they said. Cats are a great way to take care of critters around the house. Also, apparently a great way to take care of anyone ever wanting to use your pool table again. Cats are funny critters themselves. This particular cat has two litter boxes that are emptied frequently, and she’s well fed. She must’ve been mad at us for something, or wanted to send us a message. Jay said maybe having rodents would be better.

I’ve seen the All Pro Billiards service van around, and made a mental note that if I ever needed some kind of service for our pool table, I’d look into this Fitchburg based company. I called, and Darren didn’t miss a beat when I told him it had been peed on by a cat, so I suspect I was not the first such caller.

There’s no cleaning it, so refelting was my only option. I was given the choice of two different fabrics, and about 10 colors to choose from. The only thing I knew for sure was if I was going to pay to fix it, I wanted it to look different. We went with a classy looking navy color and the upgraded felt. When they had it pulled apart, they showed me a spot where they recommended a repair. The suggested repair made sense, so we went for it. It’s a project I really didn’t want to have to do, but it was either fix it or put the cover on the table forever. We did end up buying a much more heavy duty cover than the last one. Plus, now we’re actually using the cover. Since we spent a fair amount to fix this issue, the entire family has been playing pool quite a bit more.

The next fix in our billiards experience is swapping out the Edison lightbulbs above the table because Adam was right, they don’t cast the right light. The proof of that is that it’s really difficult to tell the difference between the color of the 4 and the 8 ball, which in billiards is apparently important.

Need a pool table moved? They can help with that, too!
