Westminster is one of my FAVORITE towns. Why? Conveniently located, with 4 exits on/off of Route 2, just ten minutes west of Leominster, Westminster provides a reasonable commuting distance to Boston, yet with just under 8,000 residents, it still maintains the small town feel with a great sense of community. The town has a traditional New England town center and shares the Ashburnham Westminster Regional School District with the Town of Ashburnham. Westminster shares Wachusett Mountain with the Town of Princeton. The Midstate Trail runs through town with many access points, and there is an abundance of hiking and biking opportunities–comprised of town-owned land, Wachusett Mountain State Reservation, High Ridge Wildlife Management Area, Crocker Pond Recreation Area, Hager Park, and Leominster State Forest.
