Princeton has a new emergency alert system, and residents who were signed up under the old one need to register again.
The town announced this week that it has switched from Code Red to a new platform called Everbridge. Anyone who was already registered for alerts under Code Red will not automatically carry over — a new sign-up is required to keep receiving notifications.
Fire Chief and Emergency Management Director John Bennett is overseeing the switch. He says Everbridge gives residents more flexibility in how they receive alerts.
How it works
Everbridge sends time-sensitive messages for things like severe weather, unexpected road closures, missing persons, and evacuations of buildings or neighborhoods. Residents choose where the alerts go — home phone, mobile phone, business phone, email, text, or a combination — and in what order they’re contacted.

Start at the town’s sign-up page
From there, the link leads to the Everbridge registration portal
The town’s guidance: Register, complete your profile, review your profile, and click Finish. A help page is available on the Everbridge site for anyone who runs into trouble during sign-up.
